About me

As an experienced psychotherapist and counsellor, I offer a relaxed and comfortable space in Mosfilmovskaya Street (Moscow, Russia) where you can talk about and explore past difficulties and uncomfortable feelings which are impacting on you and your mood.
I started my practice as a psychotherapist and counsellor in 2015 in South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust in IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) London, UK. I continued to work privately in Moscow, Russia after getting my qualification MA in Psychotherapy and Counselling at School of Psychotherapy and Counselling Psychology (Regent’s University London).
Before training as a Psychotherapist and Counsellor I gained a medical degree qualified as a Physician specializing in “Medical Care” at First Moscow State Medical University. Also, I am a member of IAPS (International Association for Psychoanalysis and Self-Psychology).

Psychotherapy and Counselling

What is Psychotherapy and Counselling?

Psychotherapy and counselling are traditionally known as the “talking cure”. They provide the opportunity to talk with a trained psychotherapist in a non-judgmental, relaxed and confidential environment and discuss problems that can feel overwhelming and impossible to resolve alone. Psychotherapy is not about being given instant answer to these problems; it is a collaborative endeavor to find a way through the darkness, and learn to turn inwards to find your inner strength and solutions to your own life issues.

What does it entail?

Psychotherapy and Counselling are a regular commitment. I see clients once or twice weekly for a 50 minute session, during which we work together to explore and understand what is causing your pain, and search for ways to live a more peaceful, balanced life. We can work for as little as 6 weeks, or as long as a number of years, depending on your reason for seeking therapy.

How do I know if it is right for me?

People from all walks of life come to see me, for all sorts of reasons. You may be facing a one-off challenge, such as bereavement or job loss; you may be struggling with a specific issue, such as an anxiety or panic attacks; you may have noticed that you have a pattern of destructive relationships or you may want simply to learn more about yourself. If you feel that you have not found the answers to your life’s issues alone, then talking to a trained psychotherapist can help you to overcome personal fears, challenge negative thought-processes and reconnect you with your innerstrength and resources.

How to begin?

The thought of going to a therapist or psychologist can be frightening. The feeling of anxiety, loneliness, embarrassment — these are the usual emotions that a person experiences when he decides to come to psychotherapy or psychological counseling. If you experience such feelings-it is absolutely normal.
The first consultation is very important for your understanding whether you like the psychotherapist (psychologist) and whether you are comfortable to work with him. Also during the first session, I will be able to assess which type of care is more suitable for you and the duration of therapy, depending on your preferences and the problem you are facing.

The initial session: Primarily, the initial session is used to explore the possibility of our working together. It is an opportunity for you to get a better sense of me and how I work and for us to discuss what your expectations of therapy might be. You may also have questions around what therapy entails.

There are no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ ways of starting to talk about what you want from therapy, so there is no need to feel overly concerned about that; there is no correct place to begin. This initial conversation will help you become clearer about what seems most important to you at this time- and we can take things from there.

All subsequent sessions: If, after the initial session, you decide that you would like to begin working with me, then therapy can continue for as long as you would like it to. You might find that a few sessions are all that you want or need, or you may wish to continue much beyondthis.

My approach and education

I work within an integrative framework as a psychotherapist, which means that I draw together a number of different therapeutic approaches and I can tailor my approach to your personal needs.
I help to integrate you as a person. I look carefully at how the different parts of you work together- how you thoughts, emotions, behaviours, as well as physical and spiritual health are combining or clashing. The aim is not to ‘change’ you, but to help to find balance within yourself that sees you become the best version of who you already are.
Also, I support you make sense of your existing situation and of the feelings and thoughts and associated memories that are brought about this situation. These feelings, thoughts, images and even dreams can be analysed to gain deeper understanding of how to relate to yourself and to others.
